Congratulations on finding a suitable home

After you have accepted our apartment offer and paid the rent deposit, we will enter into a lease agreement with you. The lease agreement can be signed either electronically or at the TVT Asunnot office. Upon signing the lease agreement, we will also agree on the time and place for the release of keys to the apartment.

Sign the lease agreement and provide the attachments

Signing the lease agreement electronically requires identification with online banking credentials. Please submit all requested attachments in advance.

If you sign the lease agreement in person at the TVT Asunnot office, please remember to bring all requested attachments and photo identification with you.

Picking up the keys to your new home

The lessor releases the apartment keys to the tenant when the lease begins. Please take good care of the keys, as you will be responsible for them for the entire duration of your lease. Apartment keys usually open the doors to communal spaces as well. Please ensure that all doors lock behind you to prevent unauthorised persons from entering the premises, particularly at night.

  • Release of keys The release of keys is agreed on when concluding the lease agreement. You can agree on picking up the keys from TVT’s automated key locker (on weekdays, 7am to 8pm) or during TVT office opening hours. If you pick up the keys at the office, please be prepared to prove identification.

Some of the housing locations have a door code for the stairwell door. The stairwell door also opens with the apartment key. The door code will be provided to you upon the release of keys. For security reasons, you must not share the door code with unauthorised persons.

You can pick up the key to the parking space electrical outlet at the office once your parking space lease begins. Please be prepared to prove identification.

  • Additional keys For additional keys to your apartment, please contact the housing management by phone 02 262 4333 or by email isannointi@tvt.fi. It is not allowed to have copies made of the keys without authorization.

  • Lost key If you lose your key, it is important that you report it as soon as possible to the housing management by calling 02 262 4333 or by email isannointi@tvt.fi.

You can choose to either order a new key to replace the lost one, or we can change the apartment lock so that the lost key no longer works. Both of these services are payable by the tenant, and are charged in accordance with the Price list for tenant invoicing. When you move out, the apartment keys will be checked, and the lock will be changed at the tenant’s cost if any keys are missing.

  • Door opening service If you get locked out of your apartment outside office opening hours, there is a door opening service available 24/7 by the on -call maintenance. Please be prepared to provide identification. Please note that the door opening service is an ancillary service that carries a surcharge and that it may take a while for them to arrive during on-call hours.

  • Returning the keys All keys must be returned to TVT office by the end date of your lease. Please do not give the keys directly to the next tenant. Remember to return all keys to your apartment as well as any keys to the parking space, mailbox, etc. We will invoice you for any unreturned keys or deduct the sum from your rent deposit.

Get an electricity contract for your new home

If electricity is not included in the rent, make an electricity transmission contract in Turku with Turku Energia or in Kaarina and Raisio with Caruna. You can tender out electricity consumption and make a contract with any service provider you choose.

Remember to notify officials of your new address

Change of address notification to Posti and to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency

The Digital and Population Data Services Agency requires you to notify them about your change of addess one month prior to the moving date at the earliest and one week after the move at the latest. The easiest method is to submit the notification to both Posti and the Digital and Population Data Services using a sing le form:

This way you will be sure to receive your mail to the correct address from the start. The notification of change of address may affect your eligibility for housing allowance, as Kela cannot grant you the housing allowance until your new address has been registered.

Changes to the number of tenants in your household

It is not necessary to submit a separate notification of your new address to TVT Asunnot. However, please remember to notify TVT if you change your name, have a new baby, or the number of tenants in your household changes.

Inspect your apartment when moving in

When you move into your new apartment, please check the condition of the apartment and its fittings. Mark any faults and shortcomings on the tenant’s apartment inspection form. Return the signed inspection form to the TVT Asunnot office on the next working day after moving in.
